Racine, WI, March 3, 2021 – As Whitney Houston once sang, “I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way.”
So, who better to lead us in wearing face masks than our children?
#MaskUpMKE has expanded to assist with #MaskUpRacine and launch a new public service announcement (PSA) recently to encourage residents throughout southeastern Wisconsin to wear face masks. The campaign promotes the importance of wearing a mask to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and features teenagers who live in Racine.

At the PSA viewing, Loretta Kryshak, Director of Rebel Reform and co-founder of #MaskUpMKE, honored one teenager in particular. Srisupraja Kandrakota, a 16-year-old young woman from Kenosha, is credited with making and distributing more than 10,000 masks to healthcare workers, front-line workers, and people in need.
After the event, volunteers from #MaskUpRacine delivered 10,000 additional masks and food donations to the Kingdom Manna food pantry in Racine. The free masks will be distributed to those who are unable to purchase or make their own. The masks donated by Rebel Reform are packaged in groups of three and include instructions for proper usage.
Effective in Stopping the Spread
#MaskUpMKE and #MaskUpRacine continue to promote the use of masks or face coverings as the most effective way for everyone to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
“The simple act of wearing a face covering can save lives, prevent the spread of COVID-19, and reduce the length and severity of this pandemic. We’re committed to ensuring our entire community sees this message and has access to free and effective masks,” said Loretta Kryshak.
